There are plenty of different scenic hiking trails throughout upstate New York. From Ausable Chasm to Mount Marcy, these are just a couple of scenic hikes you can find in upstate New York.
For Ausable Chasm, the length of the trail can be anywhere between 1 to 5 miles, depending on the specific trail a hiker takes. Thus, the many trails of Ausable Chasm are suitable for most people and families. In addition, the trails have native flora, wildlife, and Ranbox Falls, which is a 90-foot waterfall.
Rising in difficulty, Mount Marcy is about a 7.4-mile hike, one-way. Only experienced hikers should take this trail, as ground-level elevations can reach higher than 5,300 feet. The shortest route to the top is the Van Hoevenberg Trail, which is still nearly 10-hours total of hiking. However, supposing a hiker manages to get to the top of Mount Marcy, they get to see the view of the Adirondacks and MacIntyre Mountains on a clear day.
