Addiction Counselor Ranks Adelphi Master’s Program №24

Joshua Dietz worked in the psychology field for nearly a decade before transitioning into his current work as a sales consultant. Joshua Dietz holds a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Adelphi University.
In early May 2021, the educational resource Addiction Counselor recognized the Adelphi master’s degree program for addiction counseling, listing the overall program as one of the top 50 in the United States. The organization placed the Adelphi program at the number 24 spot.
The university’s addiction counseling program was created in 2012 and is embedded in both the MA in mental health and the MA in general psychology programs. The program prepares students to practice through a rigorous course of 350 educational hours toward the Offices of Addiction Services and Support (OASAS) certificate. This certification enables students to work toward the Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor Trainee (CASAC-T) certificate.
The Adelphi program has established a strong track record since its inception less than a decade ago. To date, all enrolled students have earned their degrees and, perhaps more importantly, have found employment soon after graduation.
